Brett J. DeSelms is a summa cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University where he obtained a B.A. degree in Psychology. Mr. DeSelms graduated cum laude from Campbell University's Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 2007. While at law school Mr. DeSelms was a member of the ATLA Trial Team and competed in trial competitions around the country. He is a member of the Order of the Barristers and also served as Deputy Attorney General for the Law School's Honor Court.

In August 2007 Brett DeSelms joined Mewborn Law Office where he has focused on civil and criminal litigation. Brett's practice has expanded to include the position of County Attorney for Onslow County, as well as the Public Guardian for Onslow County.
