Christopher L. Mewborn is a magna cum laude graduate of Campbell University where he earned a B.A. degree in Government and Pre-Law in 1988. He graduated cum laude from Campbell’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 1991. Following law school, Mr. Mewborn served as a law clerk for the Honorable Sidney Eagles, former Chief Judge of the North Carolina Court of Appeals. After a two year clerkship, he joined the law firm of Bailey and Dixon, LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina where his litigation practice focused on workers’ compensation, personal injury, and general insurance defense.
In 1997, Mr. Mewborn returned to his hometown of Jacksonville, North Carolina and opened his own general law practice. He currently concentrates in all phases of workers’ compensation litigation before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, the North Carolina General Courts of Justice, and the North Carolina Appellate Courts, as well as maintaining a busy real estate and general law practice. Since 2000, Mr. Mewborn has also served as a certified mediator before the North Carolina Industrial Commission and the North Carolina General Courts of Justice.

Brett J. DeSelms is a summa cum laude graduate of North Carolina State University where he obtained a B.A. degree in Psychology. Mr. DeSelms graduated cum laude from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in 2007. While at law school Mr. DeSelms was a member of the ATLA Trial Team and competed in trial competitions around the country. He is a member of the Order of the Barristers and also served as Deputy Attorney General for the Law School’s Honor Court.
In August 2007 Brett DeSelms joined Mewborn Law Office where he has focused on civil and criminal litigation.
